Made this rocking horse for my son for christmas. Followed plans from Woodsmith magazine No 65. Was a fun project, but thought I was getting in over my head when i started. Happy with the way it turned out. Made from pine and ordered the hardware from woodsmith store.

Question: is there anyway to add project pics to my profile without creating a post?

Nice work. I also built one for my grand daughter but had to make it about 2/3s the size. I like the saddle.

That’s a great plan, I’ve built two of them in the last 20 years and they both came out great.
When you are logged in, go to the upper right hand corner, and the drop down marked ”
My Lumberjocks” should show you “new project” to allow adding photos to a new project.

That is one of the nicest plans (and completed project) I have seen of a rocking horse.

We raise horses and I am always critical since they never really look like a horse, but this is a good one.

Well done!!

It looks great and sturdy. Great design and very well executed. I’m sure your son will enjoy it for many years. Great job!

Have your say...
