This is my “Croakadile”. The way it is, is pretty much the way it came off the saw mill. I bought a bunch of boards from a guy that was moving and selling off his stock and saw mill. I was so relieved when he did not keep this board, because I immediately knew what I was going to do with the slab. There is one more slab like this, but smaller. So, me thinks that slab will be this guy’s son or daughter. The reptile is Burr Oak mounted on Quilted Maple. Burr Oak and Green Ash grow like weeds around here. Most people burn it in their woodstoves and fire places, not me!

Wow! Pretty unique find there. Too bad it wasn’t Elvis, you could be a millionaire by now!

I have a small one like this in black walnut!!
I like that you didn’t add to it. You have inspired me to do something with mine. Did I mention mine has been collecting dust for 10 years?
Great job Barry!

It’s beautiful, very creative use of the gorgeous slab and burr. You have great eye for beauty. Great job!

Nicely done!

I have a couple of small (10’) burr oak trees that don’t look like they have grown much in the last 10 years, I didn’t realize they got that large…
