This is one of my first projects. Used some pallets and part of a old privacy fence to make this coffee table. It has four storage compartments on top two of which have cantilever hinges so they can be used like TV trays. I scorched the wood with a propane torch and finished with sealant.

That is a busy looking table, hurts the eyes. I like it. Gonna be on a to do list. Where did you get the brackets for the lap sections?

I like that burning. I will have to look more into doing that on some projects.

The table is 3’ x 3’ . I just cut pieces of wood about 9” long, 3/4” wide, 3/4” thick to make the cantilever hinges. bolted them to supports inside the table and on the tabletop so that it can only lift up and out and stays parallel to floor the whole time. four on each lap table. Thanks for the positive comments guys. Wasn’t sure how it would be received. Also, don’t guess i mentioned when I posted, I made feet and legs with an old 6×6 I had. The table is very heavy. Almost wish someone would try and steal it so I could watch em on security cam. I know how I looked trying to get it in the house.lol

Definitely a top notch! I’ve never done anything like this. Very stunning!
