BIG Cedar Bench Made Of Barn Sleeper Circa 1896!

This cedar beam was never squared off when it was used for barn sleeper beams. Sometimes we are lucky to get these in. This log was 24” wide and we ripped it to 5” thick slabs. We made this bench with one of the slabs for a client’s front hallway.

We used 3/8” x 3” steel loop legs to raise the slab. Urethane finish…and she’s all done.

Yep its a wonderful find and piece, just wish I had one. Did you bend the legs yourself ? I like the wood and steel look.
