This is a Parker style pen. I had some wood glued up from a project from last year. This is Maple, Redheart and Mahogany.

This will be a popular pen. I found that in order to make pens that sell for us we need to make them unique. Pens in general are inexpensive to free, so we have to get creative.

What did you use for a finish?

Thank you all for your kind comments, I appreciate them all.

PaulLL – I used a product called Pens Plus. It is a fantastic product offered by the Doctors Wood Shop – it is supposed to rival the CA finish, without all of the mess and fumes. Seems like it works as well as CA, but with only a small fraction of the work involved with CA application.

Thanks Bill, I’ll have to check that out. I finished 4 pens today, I use a mask for all sanding and the CA, but by the end of the day I can still smell in across the shop.

Have your say...
