Mahogany Cabinet

Here is a project I finished about two years ago. I was 16 then. I had to resaw most of the wood from some slabs of mahogany. It was my first try at half blind dovetails. Unfortunately, you can’t see them. The finish didn’t turn out as smooth as I would have liked but it is fine.

Thanks for looking,

Man, that’s nice. Amazing for anybody, much less someone who hadn’t had a driver’s license for a whole year yet!

Beautiful cabinet, well done, great craftsmanship. The dovetails are fantastic, nice and tight.

Very nice…curly mahogany, yet! I wouldn’t have dovetailed the feet, though. But that’s me.

Thanks everybody. It was my first “fine” piece. Most of my other work had been rather plain.

I actually don’t have a US license yet. I’m supposed to work on that soon. They don’t accept Mexican licenses……I wonder why :P.

Living here in Mexico allows me access to a lot of beautiful wood. I have over five varieties of fine tropical and exotic woods out in my shop right now. I just need the jobs to make stuff out of it.

There are a lot of things I’d change now but I turned out rather well.
