I just proved any body can do woodworking. If a kid like me can build something like this then anybody can!! It is made of maple and cherry and my dad cut the strips on the table saw and I glued it up then put some finish along with some furniture wax to give it the shine. I hope you like it!

I love it! It’s great. Very nice choice of woods, and the lines appear to line up perfectly. I tried a chess board once and I failed! Great job.

Nice chessboard!! You must have had a great teacher/dad/mentor! Cherry is nice! What size squares? Are you going to make the pieces also?

Nice project, now that you have proven that you can do wood working, what will your next project be?

Hi Dennis did you get a lot of snow in West Virginia? That makes for a good day of woodworking?

Hey ScrollMan,
Nice job. Really tight glue up. I love cherry and maple.

I just built a chess board using veneer. They are a fun project.

Welcome to LJs,
Steve
