Jewelry Box - Christmas present

Ever since my daughter in-law saw the jewelry box I made for my granddaughter a couple of years ago, she has hinted that she would love one. So this year I decided to make it for her for Christmas.

The design has the top shelf lifting when the top is raised. It also stops the top just past 90 degrees. I love that the design is all wood (except for the hinges – the next one i want to use integrated wood hinges).

The materials are Purpleheart and Figured Maple. Finish is 10 coats of lacquer and past wax.

The picture quality is not the best. Just used my phone camera since I had to get it wrapped.

Thanks for looking.

I love this design. There are a few purple heart boxes on here that have given me some great ideas. I plan on building one for my wife for valentines day. I expecially like the feet and the handle. Great job.

I should have mentioned. The design is not mine. I found it here:
