Ok…Ok… I know the sketchup picture had nothing to do with this project. Sorry for not placing the pictures in line as I normally would. I took them at to high a resolution and the files size limits for uploaded pictures kicked in.
This bowl started from a laminated block which was a cutoff that someone was tossing out. He had glued up mahogany for some sitting benches he had been commissioned; he did not want to waste the cutoff and was offering them to a few people for free.
This bowl is 6” wide x 4” deep…. This is the first time Ive turned a piece like this; I also used a new attachment for my lathe… Cole jaws. They grip the lip of the bowl and let me turn away the temporary foot on the base. This has been a nice addition to my lathe.
