I haven’t uploaded a project in a while, but I thought this one turned out pretty good. It’s a coffee table I recently made out of a single thick slab of cherry. The bowtie inlays are made from leapardwood. The hardest part was making it flat and coplanar. I have a few more pictures of the process posted on my tumblr.

Nice chunk of wood and impressive work. Especially using a plane for flattening. I would’ve gone with a router sled the whole way because I’m lazy!

Very unique piece, you’ve given me some ideas on use of natural edged slabs-thanks! Hope you had a smoker for all those cherry chips-or got them to someone who does-it’s the best. You could have dinner on your table that you cooked/smoked with the shavings-a perfect circle! LOL
