My neighbor gave me a bunch of black walnut and white oak moulding. Of course I made it into cutting boards to give as Christmas presents!

Very simple; just ripped off the flat portion of the moulding, crosscut, glue-up, flatten, sand, crosscut, sand, sand, profile, sand, sand, and finish with mineral oil. I had a blast – especially since I couldn’t get started until two days before Christmas and was still putting on the finish late Christmas Eve—a real Santa’s elf job!

I had so much fun doing it that I started a blog. Come check it out:

Look great, like the pretty contrast of the woods and the finish. Well done!
