My wife saw a Santa and elf at some store…they wanted $120 for the set…I said I can make those with scraps I have sitting around…so I went to my scrap bin, you all know how it tends to grow out of control…so I made a set for her…she liked them so much she decided she wanted to give them as gifts…well once more to the scrap bin….I discovered I had enough to make many sets, I settled with making 6 more sets…I told a fib and said I had no more wood good enough for any more…one can only stand so much festive wood working after all….all told I figured up how much it actually would cost if I had bought all the wood and paint etc..With careful attention to limiting waste cutoff and such it cost around $20 a set and it was much better construction than the $120 sets she saw. mine was 1/2 pine, theirs was 1/8 sheets of cheap ply and particle. mine has depth as all the cuffs and hat bands etc.. are individual pieces that have taller profiles than the bodies, I even carved the ears on the elf. theirs is a single pattern cutout…ok ok they can do 3 to 1 time wise but if I sold them at half their price side by side hummm which would you buy

Going into the Christmas crafts market, Lee? Looks like they’re well made. Good job.

No I don’t think I could. My wife would be giving them all away as gifts as fast as I could make them LOL.
I really wish we had had time to stop by and see ya last time we were in Williston. We went to the Den but I did not know you had bought it until after we left town. Would love to see your shop and some of your work.
