This bowl is turned from a piece of local maple crotch. The natural sides are quite different in height and the high side has odd knob that is nearly golf ball-size, which is also left natural. The crotch figure in the bowl bottom is quite striking. It’s 8” in diameter and about 6.5” tall at the highest point. The wall thickness is between 3/16” and 1/4”. Finished with 3 coats of Waterlox Original.

That is NICE. Love the pattern and the knob.
Thanks for showing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Gorgeous piece, the grains are stunning and the knob makes a great accent. Great turning!
