Early this past summer I was fortunate enough to have the extra cash to buy a BGE smoker. However there was no way on this planet I would buy one the pre-made tables. So, after looking at several different type I designed my own in Sketchup. This started as 8/4 Rough Cypress and put together with Pocket holes and stainless steel screws.

Nice work, I would like to do this with my Weber.
Have you had the Egg for a while? I hear a lot of good things about it.

Those Eggs are awesome. I made a table with the same design a few years back as a gift. Works great with the table space on top and storage below. Yours is much nicer than the one I made. Real nice I am sure it will get a lot of use.

Dan,

I used ””One Time Finish” that i picked up at woodcraft. The link is to the natural tone but you get the idea… I believe I used Chestnut.

Vince,

I have had it now since spring of last year. It has been great… I have never used a smoker before and always owned gas grills. I have cooked briskets, pork shoulder/butt, whole chickens; I even did a whole smoked turkey for thanksgiving this year. It also does a phenomenal steak. I have zero regrets in this purchase. Yes, they are expensive but for me it was money well spent.
