Cake slicers, ice cream scoop and letter openers (under $2 each) all made from reclaimed scraps:
• Ice cream scoop ($1.25) – cut-off from a discarded garden tool holder
• Cake slicers ($1.25 each) – abandoned broom handle & leftover dowel from a previous project
• Letter openers ($ 1.50 or so each) – scrap lumber and hardwood flooring scrap

Finish: BLO and polyurethane; for letter openers – Turner’s finish and wax

These are economical and nice gifts to make and give.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

PS The last pic shows one of the picture frames made from reclaimed pallet boards a while back.

Great recycling. I like the idea of the cake servers.

I like it all! Great ideas. Thanks for posting.

What about the puzzle? Do you have any info on that? I would like to get one of those.

Thanks for the comments.

Brett: The old puzzle was from LVT and that one has been discontinued. You may try eBay for its discontinued versions.

The current one it is selling can be found here: http://www.leevalley.com/en/gifts/page.aspx?p=71075&cat=4,53201
