I just got a nova DVR XP for Christmas. (Read spoiled) I built a stand for my height and when finished will have 240 pound of concrete in the base and a drawer unit above. Even without the extra weight I am able to stand on any corner of the bench with no movement. I made Mortice and tenon treadle legs with really provides a lot of stability. I may have over built it but my other 16 inch lathe is a shop smith which I chased around the shop on out of round turnings.

I just got a lathe for Christmas also. I need to build one of these ASAP. Nice strong table you got there.

I bought one a few months ago and had a lot of fun building mine. Nice project to play around with. Yours looks like it will be very stable. Nothing like your own made to fit order.
