My daughter is a Graphic Design Major in College: “Dad, can you build me a project table so I can spread out my work in my apartment for my weekly project assignments?”
All Dads answer: “Sure, how big? How tall?” (That’s what Dads do for their daughters.)
36” W x 54” L x 34” T
Not pretty, but functional and put together out of one sheet of Chinese Birch Plywood ($40). Only about 1.5 sf of the sheet left over. Mitered the edge and used biscuits to glue the legs together – same for table apron – rabbeted the apron and set the top in. Couple of braces across the width span from apron to apron under the top. Ran the round over router bit all around. Two 2.5” carriage bolts attach each leg to the apron. Slapped some stain on it and satin poly tomorrow. She’s heading back to college in 3 days.
I envision it making the circle and coming back to me to be used as an assembly table someday. ;)
