Project Information
I'll be learning to scrollsaw this year. I got this design from a craft magazine from about 20 years ago. Like a lot of scrollsawn things, I'm not sure just what you're supposed to call it. Kitsch comes to mind, but my Mom likes angels and I'm doing all Christmas themed stuff this year to learn the scrollsaw so here it is. Based on the rest of the pictures in the article it is supposed to hang from a ribbon tied to the two angels wings.
It was a good learning experience with inside/outside curves of all types. I don't like the font they chose for the letters, and yes I know I screwed up that last E - it's just a skosh too thin. But it's my first completed one that's good enough to keep so I'm happy there.
It's approximately 7" tall.
Wood is soft maple.
Finish is 3 coats of rattle-can, satin something (lacquer?)
