Decided to try my hand at making a mantle clock. Didn’t use any plans, just drew something up and made it as I went. It is 10” tall by 7” wide. Used Walnut and Ambrosia Maple. Finish isn’t complete yet.

I like Do you have a picture of the back? Is the spalted on thr front a veneer ? I am gretting ideas for next,christmas already. And this is on the list!

The spalted is wood. It is about 1/4” thick. I did not put a back on it. I can take a picture for you though. I used pocket screws to attach the top. The sides and bottom are dado jointed.

Very nice, I like your mix of different woods. To much of spalted maple can be over whelming
