Wow, nice job! Finish looks great. How’d you attached the top to the base? Pine with stain, or ?

There are 2×2 supports every 9 inches under the table I screwed up through the 2×2 with 2 inch screws so they went about half way up to the table top. The table is just pine, for my first built I did not want to mess up good wood. I used a wood conditioner and then stain and then a few Coats of polyurethane for durability and hopefully to harden it up a bit, to reduce pen indentations.

Nice work you should be proud. Any ideas for project #2?

Thanks everyone for the support and comments! Now that I have built my wife a desk, my next project will be a night stand for the guest bedroom or a desk for me :) When I do another desk I think I will try to include some drawers! My sister inlaw now wants a dinning table! So we will see! Has anyone every build a chair? I am a bit nervous about a chair as I want a chair that is very sturdy and strong! Any one have any ideas?
