As I am slowly gathering tools the planer was my most recent addition. This one did not have a stand and even though I am short, it was a little too close to the ground for my use. Years ago when I was still dreaming about woodworking I had downloaded a pdf booklet about ten projects made completely of plywood. One of those projects was this tool cart. It took me a couple of days to complete it as the New Year’s party required some of my time to do the shrimp boil. I needed a drawer pull but could not find one in my junk box. What I did have a supply of was the cheap wrenches you get when you buy something that needs assembled. A couple of stand offs and screw holes later I had a unique drawer pull that fits in better in the shop than it would in say the kitchen.

I think my favorite part is the wrench/pull idea. What a great use for junk wrenches!

And a good build on a utility cart too.

Thanks guys. It was a simple fun build. Now that I have the planer some place usable I am ready to start on my first cutting board.

Have your say...
