The first project I have for my students in my Woods I class is a design project. They are instructed to make bentwood abstract art.
The wood we bent was red oak and the other woods could be anything they wanted.
Many students struggled on this project and especially on the finishing and attaching part.
Not too many students expected to do art in a Woods class.
This was the first time I tried bending wood in my classes.
All wood was donated from Dorchester Hardwoods in Dorchester, Wisconsin.

A great learning project! Is the oak steam bent?

Cool projects, works of art indeed. Bending wood is really challenging and they accomplished it quite well. Congratulations!
