Project Information

I tried to build this sometime in the 1990s and failed miserably. When Archie posted his completed project I was motivated to pull the plans back out, redo the math, and try again. (Thanks Archie!) I scaled this one down for a 1/2" x 6" x 10" piece of Bubinga I had. When using 1/2" thick lumber it only takes 1/4 bf of wood so it's a good use of scraps. I like puzzles and if anyone knows of any other 3-D ones like this (I've got a half-dozen burr puzzles in the works) please let me know where I can find plans.

I tried to build one of these puzzles last year and got nothing but irritated.
It would never go together or come apart easily. I'm sure the plans were messed up. Couldn't have been my puzzle building ability.

Your pachyderm looks well built….................

Like puzzles as well. This one looks great, beautiful wood and cool design on the elephant. Great work!
