Toy bench made from repurposed headboard

This is a toy bench I built for my grandson. It uses an old headboard for the back. Since I knew it would be painted I used pine for the toy box. I painted it with chalk paint using brown as the bottom layer with a topcoat of firecracker red. I distressed it and then rubbed on burnishing paste. I used a soft close lid support to prevent smashing little fingers.
