Flag Case with Raised Base

This was a fairly simple flag case built for a retiring USAF civilian built out walnut. The corners were mitered and assembled with #10 biscuits
Since I used the full widths of the boards, the top ended up being a little deep for the flag so I had to rout a two-stage recess from the back to make sure it would fit properly.
Additionally, the entire box is modular, a first for me. The base is attached with angled screws to the triangle, pocket holes, and straight screws from the bottom. The finish was a medium stain and spray lacquer.

Nicely done—the base is a definite plus.
