Chechen and Curly Maple

This box started as just a basic chechen box. For the lid I started with a really pretty piece of curly maple which I picture framed with chechen. I then laminated a piece of oak to the curly maple for added thickness and stability. The lid was then banded with birdseye maple. I debated many different styles for the corners, but finally decided that I really liked the clean lines, so I just softened the edges. In keeping with the clean lines, I decided not to use a lift or handle. Instead a small pressure on the back corner lifts the lid. The interior is lined with cedar.
Thanks for taking a look.

It looks great! The Curly Maple lid looks awesome and the contrast is fantastic. Great Job, I like it

Thank you. This is another one I wish I could keep for myself, but it will be shipped off to Canada once the holidays are over.

Very nice choice of woods, the inlay is also very nice, what are the measurements? How is it finished?
