I made this flip top stand a couple years ago, and often wondered since then why I didn’t do it years earlier. I made a couple minor modifications. The plans called for dadoes to fasten the sides to the base, and I used a solid rod as a pivot instead of 2 individual pieces. I used a mix of 2 by 6’s and 2 by 8’s for the base. I decided to mount my Delta Shopmaster miter saw on one side, and my 12” Makita planer on the other.

Thanks for the post. I have one of these on my build list as I am thinking it might be good for my Scroll Saw and my Sander.
Need to look through my back issues and see where it is.
