This is a coffee table that I made from oak 4×4 squares cut. than I used an ash tree that was cut down as the two pieces in the center. Covered it with poly.

I would have thunk that just doing the top in the 4” squares would have been neat enough, but inserting the ash tree slices sure makes it an awesome conversation piece.
