Another veneering project: This one is a serving tray with a central compass rose motif, that I made myself. Along with the compass rose, the central region is four-way matched redwood burl. This project provided a test bed for several veneering techniques that I am trying to learn. The sides are walnut hardwood with contrasting splines for strength. Finish is several coats of sprayed lacquer.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Nice tray Richard. The parquetry is nice and crisp and the banding works well with the burl.

I like it.

Thanks for showing it

I love it. simple but elegant. Very much like the choice of veneer and the workmanship is great.
