It’s been a wile since I’ve posted something. . so out of the recent wood projects I’ve done I thought this was a fun one. it’s a copy of readably available table made by the makers of the Kermit chair. I rather liked gonzo over the green guy so I’m calling it the Gonzo. I had consider little miss piggy as I’ll most likely use it bike camping as a cook top for my jet boil.
I made it with the idea of going back and changing the size up on version 2.0 but I figured I’d stick with the stock size for my first version. It’s 12”W x 14 L X 12.5 H. The legs are 1”x 1” and the slats are are 1/4” thick. I used ash but white oak would work well if you’ve got it.
The key is the joint that uses a threaded insert in the leg and whats called an elevator bolt found at most of the larger box stores. The blue strips is tape I used when mocking it up. The black strips is 3/4 webbing and I used regular 1/2X 1/4 deep staples in each slats. It’s a rather clever idea which I can’t take credit for. The last pic is a stuff sac I made to hold it.
