A few weeks ago a sweet lady at my work, Miss Vicky, was in need of a cane and asked me to make her one. I made the staff out of quarter sawn white oak and the handle from black locust. The staff has a coat of Minwax gun stock stain and the handle General Finishes gel stain. Then 3 coats of spray poly and McGuires wax. Here is a video slideshow.
