The company I work for moved offices this last October. Some of the furniture was destined for the landfill. I convinced the office manager to let me purchase the solid cherry built in cabinetry and desks for a small fee. In return I made her one of these stools for her young son. I made 5 more for other friends and family with small children.

I am very happy to have saved the wood from the landfill and to have a plenty of material to build with. I used the same material for my daughters keepsake box

Material: 1” solid cherry; dowels – cherry stained poplar
Finish: 2 coats boiled linseed oil, and paste wax

Pretty stuff, neet, simple design.
