Here’s the second of two wood whisperer/wwmm easel projects I did as Christmas gifts for little people. This one is walnut and maple. I think the neat feature on this one is the walnut blocks with the tray attachment screws buried in them. They add a nice accent and help tie it together. Beneath the tray I did the dowel pins that it can rest on during assembly as well. I did have one problem with this one, in that the pocket screws wanted to (and did, in several cases) split the walnut rails and even the maple drawer slides on one corner. Should’ve maybe stuck with the half laps, but they all repaired nicely.
As far as the artwork, they were all completed at my in-laws before the easel goes home with our niece. I’m really wishing I had built another for myself right now.
Merry Christmas to all, wishing God’s peace to you and your family.
