Advent Box

I made this advent box as a Christmas gift. It has 25 individual drawers, all of which are hand dove-tailed. Each drawer contained a gift, to be opened one each day starting December 1. Several drawers had a lottery ticket, gift card, or piece of paper with a clue about where a bigger gift was hidden. The December 24 drawer was full of wool strands, which represented a big wool throw. The December 25 drawer contained wood chips and chunks of dove tails, which represented a hand dove-tailed blanket chest that I had made myself.

Outstanding project for the Christmas season—the best I’ve personally seen. Thanks for sharing.

Thats a great project. My wife approves! Her comment was, “save your clues, it gets harder to find places to hide the advent gifts over the years.” My comment was, “thats a lot of dove tails!!” Well done.

very cool idea!

I love observing Advent as a season…. it makes the build up and anticipation of Christmas a lot more fun and helps keep us focused on the “reason for the season”

Great job!
