I made this box as an Xmas gift for my Mom. It contains several firsts for me. This is my first attempt at marquetry and flocking. This is also my first post on Lumberjocks. The box is made using figured maple, bloodwood and wenge. The marquetry was made using various veneers, not sure what exactly, which I sand shaded. I finished it with 3 coats of wipe on poly with a few coats of finishing wax at the very end.

Nice little box. Welcome to LJ and to marquetry.
Both can be very addictive …. But in a good way.

Impressive work, it came out really beautiful. Gorgeous inlays and attractive wood mix.
