This clock is turned from a solid piece of Cherry. It measures about 6 inches across and about 2 inches deep. The face of the clock is turned from a separate piece of cherry from the same Board (to keep the colours and grain consistent). The face is a friction fit into the body of the clock. There is a shallow flat sanded on the lower edge to stop it rolling onto the floor!

The mechanism was salvaged from another shop bought clock that got consigned to the bin once this clock was unveiled.

The finish is wipe on danish oil.

What a hunk of cherry too.

If you sand a second flat 30 degrees to the left of the one you have, then you don’t have to change the clock for day light savings time. Just use the other flat and the clock will jump back 1 hour :) Reverse back in 6 months.

Love it,

Wow awesome turning here. The block is simple and elemental with a warm earthly feel. Very nice piece, I like the cherry with its very consistent grain and color throughout.

It’s a nice clean contemporary shop. Congratulations.

It’s a perfect example of simple elegance. Love the cherry. Great job!
