A few weeks ago, my wife found an art table for our kids online and was about buy it for a Christmas gift when I saw that they wanted about $300 for it! I immediately said, “I can build that!” The design was straight forward enough, and I had a fair amount of plywood and MDF on-hand from previous projects… so the only thing I had to purchase for this project was the colorful bins and cups.
I really like the design of this table. It has space for three bins and a couple of drawers to keep the myriad of art supplies my kids have organized as well as three cups which sit in drilled out holes in the table top to hold paint brushes, markers, etc… Mounted under the table on the front support leg is a roll of paper which comes up through the top.
After 1 day of playing today my kids love it and have fully “tested” it’s construction by slamming the drawers, standing on the table top, etc… so I’ve apparently built it strong enough to standup to 3 year old twins! Hopefully it lasts a long time to come!
