This lamp is named “Repose” because the shape is somewhat evocative of a person reclining on a couch. Mountain laurel with a clear shellac finish; the laurel branch was found in the woods near the buyer’s cabin. She liked another lamp I had made for a benefit auction earlier in the year and asked if I had something similar as a gift for her mother’s birthday in a week. I didn’t, but fortunately I was able to find the piece and finish it before I saw her the following weekend.

A 60W max table lamp, approximately 31” high. The cord is completely hidden within the wood, exiting through a knothole near the base. Unfortunately, the damaged shade shown here was the only one available when these photos were taken.

See the project page or my Etsy shop.

Cool looking lamp… and the ones in your etsy store too.

Yeah, very cool. I’d be interested in learning how you inset the wire in the branch.

I love it.
