These are a pair of monster trucks I made for two of my grandsons, one age 3 and the other age 2.

The first picture shows one of the trucks before painting.

The remaining pictures show the trucks with their paint jobs.

These are made from the excellent plan created by Les Neufeld in his book, “Tremendous Toy Trucks”. My only modification from Les’ plan was to scale the size down by about 50%.

Sometimes I make toys and they really bomb with the kiddos. So I made the first truck and I asked Nathan, my 3-year-old grandson, if his cousin, Michael, would like it. Nathan drove it across the carpet and noted how fast it drove, and assured me that Michael WOULD NOT like the monster, but that he, Nathan would.

Sure that the truck would be a bit hit, I returned to the shop and made a second truck. Tomorrow is Christmas Day. I hope the boys like them as much I enjoyed making them.

Merry Christmas to all.
