This was a Christmas gift for my mother. She keeps her bedside pistol in it! I was trying for an unusual shape and did a lot of belt sanding to get the sides and top out of the standard square shape. Thanks for looking guys and gals!

That’s the nicest holster I’ve ever seen. Great design and execution. You did your mom proud. Thanks for sharing.

Christopher, this is a great looking box! Joe, I agree, where is the belt loop, buckle and leg tie? I hope this box has never had to be opened suddenly in the middle of the night.
Seriously this is very cool. I’m sure your mom absolutely loves it. I admire this style and will have to try it sometime.
When I saw this it reminded me of the style of some of Andy’s boxes…like this one posted some time ago…http://lumberjocks.com/projects/2771.
Thanks for posting it.

I like it! The idea of working the edges of the box with a belt sander shows a lot of patience. I wish I had more of it: I usually grab the router and put an ogee on it. Very nice work!

I really like your designs. You need to post some pictures of the inside of the boxes. I want to see the whole box.

Really pleasing to the eye, beautiful lines. Love the protruding caps. Great wood. Real treasure.
