This is a Gary Falin roughout that I saw at the Renegade Roundup last March. I’ve carved a few original designs the past year, but I think I’ve learned a few things by carving the designs of others, even though I end up “improving” them. Gary’s work has a lot of intricacies and it is quite educational doing his roughouts. I’m really looking forward to the next one! Merry Christmas to all!

Very nicely done, and just in time for the holidays. Though this guy looks like he is holidayed out. I love the paint job, your fabric effects are excellent!

Mike, this is a wonderful carving and I don’t see how it could be done any better. It’s perfect. Merry Chrismas.

Looks like he is saying, “You want what and you want it when?” Send him out for a hot buttered rum or three. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas.

I think he is looking up at Santa saying, “Are we done yet?”

Beautiful work as usual Mike.

Mike, each member of our family had an ornament on our Christmas tree except me. Thanks to your “5 minute Gnome Tutorial” I now have an ornament.

Merry Christmas
