I just finished this board tonight. I made it for my mother for Christmas. The blocks are maple, walnut, and cherry. The boarder is padauk. The board measures 16 1/4” X 10 1/2” X 1 1/2”.

The blocks didn’t line up quite as well as I wanted, but overall, its not too bad.

I sanded it to 400 grit and oiled it with mineral oil.

The first picture is the board after oiling. The second one is just before oiling. The third is when the boarder was being glued on. That padauk really makes a mess in the shop! Everything was already purple from my last cutting board, and now it has a layer of orange on top.

Fantastic!!! Great work, have always liked the 3d tumbler boards but you have taken it to a new level with the border… Sure mother will be thrilled! Thanks for sharing…

Making the extra mess in your shop using the paduak was well worth it. Looks awesome and your mother will love it. Excellent work

Terrific! I cannot see where the misalignment is, I think it looks great! I have to try building one of these.

Great looking cutting board. I am a huge M.C. Escher fan and this is right up alley.

You did a great job on the pattern! The 3D effect is totally fantastic! Very pleasing.

That is a great cutting board, nice job. The border really adds to the aesthetics.
