Business Card Holder

Doesn’t get much simpler than this. Took some Oak and Walnut scraps and glued them together, squared the ends, chamfered the edges, and cut a groove down the center. My Uncle is doing me a big favor and selling me a truck from his used car lot at cost, and I just wanted to make him something simple to say “thanks.” I’m thinking he could use this in the office at the lot.

Funny thing is, I actually glued up those scraps several months ago while puttering around the shop – they were just laying there, and looked to me like they wanted to be put together :) Now, several months later, when I decided to make a card holder, I realized I had one sitting there already half made – it just needed a slot to hold the cards.

Finish is just 3 coats of Watco Danish oil. I’m going to let it sit another day or two, and probably put a coat of wax on it before giving it to him. By the way, those are my wife’s business cards for the demo – shameless plug :)

Nothing wrong with simple. Nice looking piece.

Simple yet an attractive card holder. I’m sure it is well appreciated. Great job!
