I think I’ll tell the wife I spent the weekend wrapping her present.
Maple and walnut ribbon box. Ripped, planed, laminated, scroll sawn, broken (twice), assembled, sanded, and finished with conversion varnish. 4”x4”x4” ribbon box based on a free plan by some scroll saw guy. I’ll give credit when I find his name again.

That is a great looking present, very nice. And already wraped.

Looks like a Steve Good design, I’ve built a couple of them.

Thanks y’all. I think Steve Good is the guy, Dan. Fun box if a bit tedious sanding the fool ribbon.

Tedious indeed. One thing I’ve found that helps are those little sanding strips you can use on a scroll saw for sanding the inside of the loops.

That’d help keep from breaking the silly ribbon, eh? I shoulda thought of that, and ordered some.

Very nice. There is an article about a similar box in the Aug/Sept 2012 issue of American Woodworker.

Very well done. Ribbon boxes are so neat to look at from every angle. Amazing fit and finish.
