Originally, I planned on this being one stained piece, so I started from some cherry scrap. as I went on I was very unhappy with the taper of the legs so I chopped them off at the knee. I was also unimpressed with the grain pattern so I opted to paint it and attach the legs as separate piece that dangle from a string. I was surprised at how easy the giraffe pattern was to replicate, but boy was it tedious! No way I could ever sell this one for what I put into it, so this goes to my oldest daughter for Christmas.

A lot of fine detail there. He came out great.

Cute and a unique ornament, like the design and the dangling legs. Great job!
