Walnut mantle clocks

Clocks for our two boys’ families for Christmas this year.
Both solid walnut from raw lumber and my own design. I put a trim of maple around the drawer opening and just below the trim on the top. Used a golden oak stain and several coats of poly for durability.
They measure 16” tall by 9” and 5” deep. Drawers are lined with felt. Ordered the clock insets already assembled to keep it simple and due to time restrictions. Next clock project, I may attempt the chime / pendulum version. To keep them “one of a kind” and not identical, one has wider trim on top, the other on the base.
It was fun matching the configurations in the walnut for the best effect.

Very nice. Good contrast with the maple on the walnut.

Very nice clocks Larry. You selected the right boards for the top. Well done.

They’re both nice, but being “mantle” clocks, I prefer the one with the wider base : )
Keep up the nice work , and Happy Holidays : )

-- When you arrive at my front door, please knock softly but firmly. I like soft , firm, knockers : )

Wonderful clocks! Love the walnut and they make great gifts. I’m sure they are well appreciated. Great job!
