Once my new Ryobi scroll saw was set up it was time to practice so I chose the logo of the engineering company i work for as it was simple.
Did one piece and this got me thinking to what to do with it, this lead to creating 3 more logos. After staring at them for a while it was decided to slice them in half and mount them at 90 degrees. on a post.
I had never done any *togonal work so decided to attempt a hexagon base and then added the divider pieces as an after thought.
I had seen the top design on another wood site as I am sure some of you have and decided to add an oriental flare to the piece by creating the curved top. I do not have any disc/spindle sanders so the rough grind was done with a hand held grinder and then hand rasped/sanded to attain the final look.
The next ‘first’ was creating a swivel for the tower by crafting a cup/spindle, was difficult to get it to fit snug enough to prevent tilt but loose enough to turn. In the end I cut some polypropylene washers out of a milk jug that worked wonderfully.
The wood is local Thailand rosewood with multiple coats of hand rubbed paste wax.
It now resided in a display case at the local engineering office.

Something about this really catches my eye, I think the top is very cool, nice and flowing. The bottom logo was a great idea, your company should want this. Great job!!!!

That top really sets the table apart from others. Very nice job for a first scroll saw project.
