This is a large mash paddle, intended for a professional brew-house with a 7 beer barrel vessel – that’s 217 US Gallons of beer!

My client is the owner of Zephyr Brewing, based in Denver, Colorado and was a pure pleasure to work with and create this paddle.

The paddle is 55 inches tall and a tad under 4 inches wide – it’s over 1 1/4 inches thick and made of solid Ash.

I used my CNC router to carve the letters in the handle as well as the logo in the paddle area.

My scrollsaw was then used to cut out the hops flower shapes in the paddle area – this took a REALLY long time as I was cutting through such thick hardwood!

After all was finished and sanded, I dipped it into food-grade mineral oil for some protection.

Ash mash paddle, that is a mouthful. Looks like a winner.

Looks nicely done Bog. You should have a lot of potential customers with all the micro breweries popping up everywhere. We have quite a few here in Norway too.
