OK, guys this is probably my last post before Christmas. I say these pens on the Peen State website and just had to make a few for some of my hunter friends. the pen barrels are oak, butternut, and walnut. They are finished with EEE-Ultra Shine and two coats of Shellawax.

Have a great Christmas season everyone. See you on the other side.

Lee, those are great looking pens. I’m waiting for PSI to send me a replacement bit for the kit that they sell and I’ve got 4 more to turn. Unfortunately the defective bit messed me up getting them ready for Christmas.

Your pens should be very well received.

Great work and very fitting for hunting buddies. One question Lee, do you think the EEE ultra shine has a strong protective finish that lasts?

Thanks all for the kind words.

Dave, I just started using the EEE ultra shine so I can’t comment on the durability of the finish. It is a friction polish so I’m thinking it should penetrate to wood OK.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. These pens are easy to make.

To Scotsman here is a link to the Penn State website Look for the 3 bolt action pen kit starter package in their catalog for $42.75. Beware, you have to supply your own turning blanks.
