Turned Walnut bowls

This was a set of bowls I turned for the house to keep some of the odds & ends under control. The shallower ones are made from a single block of figured walnut. Each has a simple profile to keep them matching and to keep the focus on the grain of the wood. The deeper one is 3 pieces glued up from a similar board.
These were the first projects I built with my full-size expanding jaw chuck (after having some poor results with smaller version years back). All considered, it was much easier than I was expecting. No disasters, nothing breaking.
Each was finished with danish oil and buffed with turner’s wax.

Beautiful work. I love turning walnut. I have a hard time finding dry chunks in my local area. Nice finish I do appreciate. Thanks

Beautiful set of bowls. I liked the way you kept them similar in design to keep them a match set set. Well done.
